I also loved the experience of writing for more than one type of genre. I usually stick to fantasy, and romance but it was really cool to try writting mysteries and horrors.

What I was hoping for in this class was a little more leeway for creativity. For example I was hoping to compare manga to books for my summative. It would have been cool if our summative could have involved anything to do with literature rather than just based on assignments we did in class.
Some imporovements I would reccommend for this course is more time to do assignments. I know I do struggle with deadlines but also in order to write well a lot of time and effort needs to be spent on writing. By allowing students more time there stories will be better written and thought out.

I found the course worthwhile too. I enjoyed writing when I was younger but I never seem to have time for it now, so this class was a good way to make time for it. It was interesting to write new genres. I'd never before written a memoir or a romance story before; neither of which I enjoyed, by the way. I feel as though a summative involving any form of literature wouldn't follow the course truly- the course is focused on writing and our unit on studying literature was kept to a minimum. I've also had enough book analysis thanks to English class this semester...
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how many assignments we've managed to get through. In my other classes we only manage to really do a few assignments throughout the course, but I feel that time was managed very effectively in this course. Although I've said too much- this is giving spoilers for my course reflection post.
